Lunar New Year

Every year, our design department at Caesars creates custom illustrations of the Lunar animal for Chinese New Year. We go through many exercises and explorations to conceptualize different styles of the animal and assign them personalities. Mine was dubbed the Curious rabbit - attentive, inquisitive and flourishing. I drew him with stippling for shading and incorporated the good luck simple onto his thigh. This rabbit loves to explore his secret hideaway, hopping around the forest of flowers along the river (as 2023 is specifically the year of the water rabbit). He is one with his surroundings and is very tranquil in nature. He is surrounded by Jasmine (the flower corresponding with this year) and the rich vibrant colors drive home the rabbit's blissful disposition.
